MU professor to receive national chemistry award

I haven't done that many profile stories, but I did have a good time writing this one. MU radiology professor M. Frederick Hawthorne was about to win the Priestley Medal — the American Chemical Society's highest honor — for his work with the element boron, and I wanted to talk to him about everything he'd done to get to that point. Interviews always seem to go better when they're more conversational, and this one went especially well in that regard, I think.
